These are some of the fairs that have been postponed or directly cancelled this season:
This year, Cannabis Europe – the event organisers – have been unable to celebrate the Expogrow fair, the great cannabis festival that takes place in Irun in the Basque Country; last year, it registered more than 15,000 visitors and high attendance from professionals in the sector. Despite being one of the major Spanish events in the industry, the health alert has forced the event to be cancelled due to caution.
Held in Anaheim (USA), this is one of the largest fairs for CBD and legal cannabis products and it’s also been postponed – for now – to March 4-6, 2021. With more than 80,000 visitors at previous editions, it’s one of the unmissable events of the sector in the USA.
This fair, which is held in Tel Aviv and brings together many of the cannabis companies from the East, Asia and the United States, has been postponed. The new appointment, which is yet to be specified, will take place provided that the pandemic is controlled and doesn’t pose a risk to the health of the attendees. Cannatech focuses primarily on medical, scientific and technological advances, and brings together leading figures from the industry.
Despite the threat of the pandemic, SXSW remained faithful to its date; nevertheless, a petition requesting that it be postponed, signed by more than 35,000 people, forced it to be cancelled at the last minute. The new date hasn’t yet been confirmed, nor is it confirmed if there’ll even be one. But together with the Natural Products Expo West, it’s one of the great events of the sector in the United States.
Spannabis has postponed the date of its seventeenth edition to April 23rd, 24th and 25th of next year. Held in Barcelona, it’s one of the leading fairs in the sector. Along more than 300 exhibitors and 4000 accredited professionals, more than 25000 people attended the three-day event in 2019. The exhibitors called for this edition to be postponed; therefore, in response to the health recommendations not to go ahead with it, the organisation has decided to postpone the celebration until April 2021.
